April Favourites ( A little late to the party...)

Well hey guys! Sorry my favourites are a little late, but better a little late than never. Right!? Lets dig in...

------------------------- Da Face Products ----------------------------

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

Ok, so I'm not generally a foundation kind of girl. I have a ton of freckles... reallllly pale skin and I hate hate HATE being able to SEE your face makeup. (Sorry for the drama... I'm just all about a natural face) But I have to say, I really like this one! I picked this up after EsteĆ© aka essiebutton (check her out, she's the bomb) talked about it for probably the 30th time and I thought to myself... alright self, purchase that and just try it already! And I'm glad I did. I have the shade 51 light vanilla and while its a hair dark and a tiny bit yellow... once its blended it looks fine so I'm not going to sweat it. Its light, you don't feel painted, it covers redness but shows my freckles and it looks like skin. That makes for a winner in my books!

Covergirl plus Olay Concealer Balm

I found this one quite a while ago through Emily of Beauty Broadcast quite a while ago. Its so smooth and creamy. I have the shade 320 fair/light and on me, this has enough of a peach undertone to conceal under eye darkness (I told you I was pale lol). Blends easily and has surprisingly good coverage for the consistency. I don't like this as much for spot concealing.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circles

Now, my circles aren't that bad but this does the trick all on its own. I often layer it over the Covergirl/Olay concealer balm and it adds a lovely brightness to my face. If I'm feeling sick or tired, this is a must!

L'Oreal Magic Smooth Souffle Blush

This is a product I have had for quite some time and fell back in love with it. I have the colour 842 Cherubic and its the most perfect colour for my skin tone. I would describe it as a dusty coral/pink. Its not bright like some blushes, and while I like the bright ones too... this one just looks so natural on me. In part because the colour is close to what I normally flush to and part because of the formula. It blends seamlessly with very little effort, its pigmented as heck and the staying power! Wowza! I reach for this blush when I'll be riding my motorcycle. I can wear my helmet and this stuff doesn't budge. It doesn't get the lining of my lid all icky either. Love it!

The Balm's Mary-Lou Manizer

You've probably heard everyone and their mother talk about this highlighter so I won't bore you with another creative description, but I would like to say that I discovered something about this product and it makes me love it even more. The pic below is the highlighter and a white-gold shadow from the body shop swatched together. I always thought Mary-Lou Manizer was a very gold highlight. But compared to that shadow it looks peachy pinkish! For some reason, that makes me more intrigued to wear it... not sure why... but there you have it! Check it out!

------------------------Fancy Eyes---------------------

The Body Shop Shadow in 02

Again, I've had this product forever! But I pulled it back out and created a hella awesome look with it. I did a purple and gold eye look. Let me know in the comments if you'd like to see a post on it. This isn't the softest shadow, and it feels slightly gritty to swatch, but it goes on the eyes beautifully. Don't always judge by the swatch! I used the palate below to pair with it.

Wet and Wild Petal Pusher Palate

This palate has also been talked to death. But I am loving it this month!

Crease Blender Brush "Blue Cosmetics"

The brush in the photos has become my new favourite brush for placing and blending crease colour. I have also used it all over my lid. It's from a brand called Blue, which is just one of the random lines that is sold at my local Shoppers Drug Mart. It came with a smaller version which I love for the outer v and for under my bottom lashes. It is super soft and unlike most crease brushes, has quite a bit of movement to it. Part of the reason I think I love this so much is the size. A lot of crease brushes are far too large for my small frame and I end up with a messy dull look. This one makes it so much easier to place and blend colour. I've loved every look I've done with this brush. Even if its a look I've done before with different brushes and didn't like the look of. Check this one out if you're having a hard time and live in Canada :)

Essence I <3 Extreme Crazy Volume

That's a pretty tall claim! I wouldn't say I get extreme crazy volume out of this, but I do really like the mascara and wand. I have naturally long and fairly thick lashes, but they are very blonde and therefore look invisible. This makes them stand out and look thick and lush. The closest thing to this I can think of is Maybelline The Rocket, but it leaves your lashes a little more flexible. The brush is rubber and has a spiked ball on the end similar to Benefit's They're Real but for a fraction of the price. Only $2.99! Giver a go!

Smashbox Photofinish Lid Primer

I have a hard time with shadows creasing and I've found very few primers that actually work for me. This one, I hated when I got it. But now I really like it. The trick is to apply just a tiny little bit. This one is tinted so it neutralizes all the veins in my thin and pale eyelids. Good stuff!

Jane Cosmetics Eye Zing Shadow in 28 Rockstar

Just to clarify, this is from Jane's original line... the one from like....10 years ago? I think this might be the oldest item in my collection! I don't normally use this on my eyes, I usually use it for my brows. Its the perfect colour for me. I never hear anyone talk about brow products for red heads. So, if you've got red hair and have this in your collection give it a try. Or, if you don't have this, Buck from Naked 1 is very similar. I use that one sometimes as well if I don't want to fight with the cap on the Jane one, grrr. lol

----------------------------Lips-------------------------

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in 012 Guest List

Only one lonely little lip product this month. Not that I have none that I like, its just this one stole my heart again with the warm weather and all.

It's a lovely deep coral that has a little more pink and a subtle shimmer. Don't worry, you wont have any glitter or sparkles left over as this wears off. I really like it paired with the Magic Smooth Souffle blush too!

--------------------------------Other Shtuff-------------------------------

The Body Shop Body Butter in Coconut

Two things on this one. My skin has been scaly and itchy, and I've been obsessed with coconut. So naturally this product would be a favourite. If you have never tried this, you need to. Period. While you're there, pick yourself up a peach shower gel or body butter. You can thank me later. ;)

Stella & Dot City Slim Clutch Aztec Coral

That orange thing hanging out in the first few photos? Yeah, that's this clutch. I've worn this clutch with everything recently. Its so bright and fun, easily fits in your armpit nook (yup, I said that) and looks so darn cute! The pop of gold is always appreciated too! Everything I need including my phone and keys fits in there without it looking bulged out or misshapen. Check out my last blog post for details and visit my website to pick one up for yourself!

That's it folks! Those are the things I've been crushing on for the last month or so. Let me know your thoughts on a certain makeup look, or anything else you'd like to read about! Bye for now lovelies!

Wait... I have to put this in here. The music geek in me is rolling on the floor laughing...
